Today in Central PA Sports History - 2005

On this date five years ago, the Lancaster Barnstormers lost their inaugural game at the newly-built Clipper Magazine Stadium, 4-3, to the Atlantic City Surf in front of 7,300 fans.  The game marked a return of professional baseball to Lancaster after the Red Roses folded following the 1961 season.  The Barnstormers finished the 2005 campaign with a record of 64-76.
