On this date three years ago, the York Revolution played their first game in franchise history at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut in their Atlantic League season opener. For the first time since 1969, a team representing York played regular season professional baseball. After surrendering a 12-run sixth inning, the Revolution lost to the Bridgeport Bluefish, 15-8, in front of 3,159 fans.
Former major leaguer Tike Redman became the first Revolution batter as he led off with a groundout back to the pitcher. Nate Espy became the first Revs player to go yard as he hit a solo homerun in the second inning off Bluefish pitcher Matt Beech.
