The Snooze Button: 1/25
Every morning, DSB will give you a post entitled The Snooze Button. Some sites will give you a Wake-Up Call or The Morning Meat...instead we give you just enough to occupy the first 9 minutes of your day.
Garrett Hartley wants to know who's buying the first round...because he isn't
Winner of the Day: Kelly Kulick
Kulick became the first woman in history to win a PBA Tour title on Sunday beating Chris Barnes, 265-195, in the final of the 45th Tournament of Champions to take home the $40,000 first prize and a two-year PBA Tour exemption. "It's unbelievable," Kulick said. "I always imagined myself winning a professional title, but I never thought it would be a major. The Tournament of Champions is one of the most prestigious events on Tour... Obviously, this is a turning point for my career and women's sports in general, but I would really like to see the whole sport benefit."
Loser of the Day: Brett Favre
Green Bay fans knew how this would end...they've seen this all too many times before. Unfortunately, Minnesota's Super Bowl hopes needed to rely on the 40-year old arm linked to the gunslingers' head. Adrian Peterson's butterfingers and Brad Childress' incompetence had the Vikings playing from behind the entire second half until Favre tried to force a pass into the middle of the field to improve field position for a potential game-winning field goal. Now we'll be subjected to seven months of the "will he retire or won't he" drama that has made him a pariah the last five years of his career.
Link o' the Day
Twilight has apparently freaked out the city council in Lawndale, CA. Wait until they get a load of the werewolves in New Moon.
It Pays to Enrich your Word Power
schadenfreude [shahd-n-froi-duh]
satisfaction or pleasure felt at someone else's misfortune.
