Yesterday's DSB Winner & Loser
We're going to try something new here and see how it goes for a couple of days. Every morning we'll give you a recap of what happened yesterday by giving you the DSB Winner and Loser. Drop us a line and let us know what you think.
"It's not whether you win or lose...it's how drunk you get.”
- Homer Simpson
Winner: Kevin Garnett
After missing the last three weeks with a knee injury, Garnett returned to the parquet floor in Boston last night and provided a much needed spark to the Celtics. His line ended with only 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks, but Garnett's presence propelled the Celtics to an overtime victory over the Portland Trailblazers. Previous to this game, Boston had lost their last three straight and 8 out of their last 12. If KG can stay healthy the rest of the season, it may be enough to drive Boston to the #2 seed ahead of Orlando and Atlanta in the Eastern Conference.
Loser: Charles Phillips
A high-level executive having an affair is not rare, but having it revealed on billboards in Times Square, Atlanta, and San Francisco for all the world to see is extraordinary. Oracle co-president Charles Phillips' mistress of 8 years, YaVaughnie Wilkins, plastered three-story ads with a cozy picture of the couple along with a quote from Phillips, "You are my soulmate forever". And if that wasn't sensationalistic enough, it was Wilkins who was lied to about the status of Phillips' marriage with false separations and a divorce that didn't happen when he said it did. Wilkins only became suspicious after she received an anonymous e-mail in July 2009 that stated he was having an affair/relationship with another woman...who turned out to be his wife.
Thanks for coming and suckling Daddy's Sugar Ball...
